Eventually, you’ll find yourself exclaiming ‘Oh! So that’s what it was! So that’s what happened!’ which is a pretty big deal for me since I like figuring things out! There are also a bunch of plot twists, and they’re so good that, in every episode, there’s always a surprise, a revelation, or both! At the end of the show, you’ll just find yourself satisfied because all the pieces of the puzzles will be put together.Ī confusing story isn’t worth tuning in to if you don’t like any of the characters. This non-linear storytelling is actually one of the great things I loved about Baccano! Sure it can make its viewers baffled on what the hell is going on, at first. I’m going to go on ahead and give you a disclaimer: the whole anime can get quite confusing, BUT, before you think ‘I don’t want to watch something like that!’ consider this: I’m sure you’ll eventually get used to the fuss, and it’ ll be worth it! I’m personally really picky when it comes to pacing and storytelling, but I totally enjoyed this chaotic anime and everything it had to offer!

If you’re familiar with Durarara!! then you might recognize Baccano! ’ s similar concept it focuses on a lot of characters, but Baccano! is not happening on a specific time. In all of these, alchemists who have gained immortality 200 years ago have been involved in the midst of the mess. And the last is about a girl and the mafia looking for her delinquent brother who’s been missing for two years. Another is set on a transcontinental train, the Flying Pussyfoot, where 3 different gangs are fighting to gain control of the train. One is set in the United States during the prohibition, where alcohol was banned and American mafias and camorras were running underground speakeasies and trying to overpower one another. The whole story can be divided into three different arcs that don’t seem to be related to one another.
